Preemptive Measures (COVID-19)

To prevent further spread of the novel coronavirus, all citizens are asked to cooperate. Please avoid closed spaces with poor ventilation, crowded places, and close-contact settings.<外部リンク>

Regarding Hygiene Measures

  • Please make sure to have thorough information about cough etiquette<外部リンク>-in case of coughing and/or sneezing, please cover your mouth and nose with a mask, tissue, handkerchief, sleeve, or the inside or your elbow.
  • Please regularly and sufficiently wash your hands with soap<外部リンク> (for about 60 seconds) and alcohol-based antiseptic solution.

In Case of Symptomes of a Disease 

  • If you have a fever or cold symptoms, don't go to school or work, refrain from going outside, regularly wash your hands and follow cough etiquette.
  • If you have a fever or symptoms of a cold, please check and record your temperature daily.
  • If you have cold symptoms, and are feeling extremely tired and anxious, please contact the Nobeoka City Health Promotion Division (健康増進課, Tel: 22-7014, Japanese only). You can also use the "Japan Visitor Hotline" for questions in English: https://www.japan.travel/en/plan/hotline/<外部リンク>.
  • If you have a fever above 37.5°C, problems with your respiratory system, or fall in one of the following categories, please consult with a "Coronavirus Consultation Center."
    a) People who have been in contact (*) with a patient infected with the novel coronavirus.
    b) People who have cold symptoms, a fever of 37.5°C or over for four days or more, a strong feeling of weariness (fatigue) or shortness of breath (difficulty breathing.)
    -> Additionally, Senior citizen, pregnant women, and people with an underlying disease (**) who have had the symptoms mentioned above for two days or more.

Contact with patients infected with the novel coronavirus:

  • People who have been in contact for a prolonged time with someone who is suspected to be infected (including time spend in the same car, plane, etc.)
  • People who have been involved in medical examinations, medical care or nursing of patients that are suspected of being infected without using adequate infection protection.
  • People who might have been in contact with something that is contaminated through air, saliva, or body fluid from someone that is suspected to be infected with the novel coronavirus.

People with underlying diseases:

  • People with underlying diseases including diabetes, heart failures, respiratory tract disease (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease etc.,), people who live on dialysis, as well as people who use immunosuppressive drugs or carcinostatic agents.
