From Fukuoka City
From the Fukuoka Interchange, go south along the Kyushu Motorway, then from the Mifune Interchange head towards Route 45.
Change onto Route 218, and head towards Nobeoka City via Takachiho Town.
Time required: Approximately 4 hours
From Kumamoto City
Head towards Nobeoka City via Takachiho Town, on Route 445 and Route 218.
Time required: Approximately 2 hours 50 minutes
From Oita City
Head south on Route 10. Change on to Route 326, then change back onto Route 10 and continue heading south to Nobeoka City.
Time required: Approximately 2 hours
From Kagoshima City
From the Kagoshima Interchange, head north along the Kyushu Motorway. Continue via the Ebino Junction and exit at the Saito Interchange. Continue north towards Nobeoka City on Route 10.
Time required: Approximately 4 hours

From Hakata Station to Nobeoka Station: Approximately 4 hours
Take the "Sonic" limited express train from Hakata Station.
Change onto the "Nichirin" limited express train at the same platform you alight from the "Sonic", at Beppu Station.
From Oita Station to Nobeoka Station: Approximately 2 hours
Take the "Nichirin" limited express train from Oita Station.
From Kagoshima Central Station to Nobeoka Station: Approximately 3 hours
Take the "Kirishima" limited express train from Kagoshima Central Station.
Change onto the "Nichirin" limited express train or the local "Hyuga" train, at the same platform you alight from the "Kirishima", at Miyazaki Station.
From Miyazaki Station to Nobeoka Station: Approximately 1 hour
Take the "Nichirin" limited express, or local "Hyuga" train from Miyazaki Station.
